i don't think it's the problem of having too many cats. it's the fact that she's native and all about protecting nature - hence housing a lot of cats and having a picture of a bear on display (can you paint with all the colours of the wiiiind~~), and then goes and watches television all snug on a sofa inside her home (that probably uses gas and has electicity).

maybe it symbolizes the dying native american culture?

that...as well as that picture of john smith in the corner on a table. so... maybe she just lonely and she's become cat lady?

the cats provide double meaning in the images, that much i am certain. i'm just throwing out ideas.
