This Friday is Dia de los Muertos, and even though it may appear scary to an unknowing outsider, it is actually a time of celebration!
It differs from region to region, but the many Day of the Dead celebrations include - making elaborate altars to welcome departed spirits home, holding vigils for those passed loved ones, and families going to cemeteries to fix up the graves of their departed relatives.
You'll see a ton of flowers in the beautiful imagery of Dia de los Muertos, especially Marigolds - for their bright color and strong scent are believed to lead the dead to their altar.
Skeleton makeup and sugar skulls are super important symbols of this holiday and they should be viewed as whimsical and colorful, rather than frightening or scary. They represent mortality, the cycle of life and death, and the reminder to celebrate that cycle!
Since I have so many amazing MoonBabies in Mexico and other countries - I thought I would honor this holiday and gather together some of the most stunning makeup ideas <3
